When about 15 or 16 parts of oximuriatic gaz are mixed with from 40 to 45 parts of ammoniacal gaz, there is a condensation of nearly the whole of the acid and alkaline gaz, and from 5 to 6 parts of nitrogene are produced ; and the result is dry muriate of ammoniacal.

100 cubical inches of oxymuriatic acid gaz weigh, the reduction being made for the mean temperature and pressure 74.5 grains ; whereas by estimation they should weigh 74.6. Muriatic acid gaz I find weighs, under like circumstances 39 grains ; by estimation they should weigh 38.4.
